Summary of the article
Your Webflow payment method is managed at the Workspace level in Workspace settings → Billing → Payment method. Each Workspace has its own card on file — there's no global payment method across multiple Workspaces. To update, click Edit, enter your new card details in the Stripe-powered form, and save. The new card is immediately used for all future recurring charges (Workspace plan, Site plans, add-ons). If you're updating because a payment already failed, Webflow will automatically retry the failed charge with the new card once saved. Webflow currently accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and most debit cards — but does not support PayPal or bank transfers for standard subscriptions.
If your card expires, you switch banks, or you just want to use a different payment method, you can update your card details directly from your Workspace billing settings. The new card will be used for all future charges on that Workspace, including Workspace plans, Site plans, and add‑ons.
1. Open your Workspace billing settings
In the Webflow Dashboard, select the Workspace whose payment method you want to update.
Click Workspace settings in the left side bar.
In the left sidebar, go to Billing.
2. Locate your current payment method
On the Billing page, look for the Payment method section.
You'll see:
The card brand (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.).
The last 4 digits of the card currently on file.
The expiration date.
If no card is saved, you'll see a prompt to Add payment method.
3. Update or replace your card
To change the card:
Click Edit or Update payment method next to the current card details.
A secure form will appear (powered by Stripe, Webflow's payment processor).
Enter your new card number, expiration date, CVC, and billing ZIP code.
Click Save or Update card to confirm.
Webflow will validate the card immediately. If the card is declined or invalid, you'll see an error message and you'll need to try a different card or contact your bank.
4. What happens to upcoming charges
Once you save the new card:
All future recurring charges (Workspace plan, Site plans, add‑ons) will use the new card.
Pending charges scheduled for the current billing cycle may still attempt to charge the old card if they were already queued. If that fails, Webflow will retry with the new card.
If you're updating your card because the old one failed, Webflow will automatically retry the failed payment with the new card once you save it.
5. Managing multiple Workspaces with different cards
If you manage multiple Workspaces (e.g. one for your agency, one for each client), each Workspace has its own payment method.
To update cards across multiple Workspaces:
Switch to each Workspace from the Dashboard (use the Workspace switcher in the top‑left).
Go to Workspace settings → Billing in each one.
Update the card separately for each Workspace.
There's currently no way to set a "global" payment method across all Workspaces from a single account.
6. Supported payment methods
Webflow accepts:
Credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover (depending on region).
Debit cards: most debit cards that can process online recurring payments.
Google Pay: Credits & debits cards.
Webflow does not currently support:
PayPal
Bank transfers / SEPA direct debit (except for Enterprise plans via invoice)
Crypto or alternative payment methods
7. What to do if your card keeps getting declined
If you're sure the card details are correct but it still won't save:
Check with your bank – some banks block online subscriptions or international payments (Webflow processes payments through Stripe in the US).
Check your card limits – make sure your daily or monthly spending limit isn't maxed out.
Try a different card – business cards or cards from different issuers may work better.
Contact Webflow Support – if the issue persists, Support can check if there's a billing system issue or flag on your account.
8. Removing a card entirely
If you want to remove a payment method without replacing it (e.g. you're cancelling all paid plans):
You'll need to downgrade or cancel all paid Workspace and Site plans first.
Once there are no active subscriptions, you can remove the card from Workspace settings → Billing → Payment method → Remove card.
Webflow won't let you remove a card if there are still active paid subscriptions, because that would prevent renewals and cause your plans to be suspended.

FAQ
Any questions?
Transparency for informed decision-making.
Where do I update my payment card in Webflow?
Go to Workspace settings → Billing → Payment method, click Edit or Update payment method, enter your new card details, and click Save. The change takes effect immediately for all future charges in that Workspace.
If I manage multiple Workspaces, do I need to update my card in each one?
Yes. Each Workspace stores its own payment method independently. If you want to update the card across multiple Workspaces, you need to go into Workspace settings → Billing for each one and update it separately. There's no global payment method across all Workspaces.
Will Webflow automatically retry a failed payment after I update my card?
Yes. If a payment failed and you update your card, Webflow will automatically retry the charge within a few hours. You can also trigger an immediate retry by clicking the Retry payment button that appears in the billing alert banner on the Billing page.
What payment methods does Webflow accept?
Webflow accepts major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover (availability varies by region). Webflow does not currently support PayPal, SEPA direct debit, bank transfers, or crypto for standard subscriptions. Enterprise customers may have access to invoice-based billing.
Can I remove my card entirely without replacing it?
Only if you have no active paid subscriptions. You need to cancel or downgrade all paid plans first, then you can remove the card from Workspace settings → Billing → Payment method. Webflow won't let you remove a card while active subscriptions are running.
My new card keeps getting declined — what should I do?
First, contact your bank to check if they're blocking the charge (Webflow processes payments via Stripe in the US, which some banks flag as international). Try a card from a different bank or issuer. If the issue persists after trying multiple cards, contact Webflow Support with your Workspace name and the error message — they can check if there's a billing system issue on Webflow's end.
